It's extremely easy to step into a role where those around you are allowed to essentially treat you any old kind of way. This was the bulk of my experience during my early-mid 20s, especially in the dating scene. My kindness and trust were taken for granted in many situations where I'd end up burned. It took some time to get to a place where I set those VERY important boundaries and that's when a lot of those people in my life started to leave. While my social circle is significantly smaller, I can now say I have better discernment of who I let into my life.

Don't let anyone shit on you, push you around, or make you feel like you can't have standards.
