THE CATCH
Starring: Kaigee 3
I apologize in advance for the heavy nature of this week’s comic BUT I feel Kaigee is one of the best vessels to bring attention to cultural significant issues. What would a political comic be without that, after all?
When the news of the Diddy Trial initially dropped, I followed along via Don Lemon and Touré who did (and to some degree) still doing extensive coverage of this “event”. You would think after R Kelly, after Cosby, after all the other celebrities that have enacted violence against women (and others), there would be some sort of “AH-HA” moment in the culture. Unfortunately, we’re doing the same song and dance as before.
Every excuse out the wazoo is used to defend the recorded and proven heinous acts Sean Combs has committed against Cassie Ventura and the other individuals involved. This isn’t about lifestyle because even in the BDSM Community, there are rules…CONSENT…BOUNDARIES.
Often we see people defend “their favs”. “What did she do to deserve it? - What about his legacy? - She has free will, she could have left - But he’s a Black Man who wanted to buy NBC..” Always attack the victim(s), going hard on snitches, and so on. It’s disgusting. You never see those people do their own research, sit with it, and see the error in their initial opinions, they never step up to call the likes of Cosby, Chris Brown, Diddy, R-Kelly, or even their Uncle (we all know one) what they truly are…ABUSERS.
”Hurt people, hurt people” - Then get them some help and stop letting them run around this world doing whatever they hell they want to do. No legacy is more important than the people who have been victimized.
I don’t want to make this too long of an Author Note but I think you get the point.
Stay true,
Hab
